Zen proverb 14 : Mukudoku

I will introduce a new Zen proverb. It is “MUKUDOKU.”

We can empty our mind by doing virtuous acts while being unnoticed.

“Kudoku” means rewards for virtuous acts.

But we shouldn’t desire rewards.

We shouldn’t think our action is virtuous or not.

Doing virtuous acts is as same as not doing such things.

“Mu” means ‘nothing.’

We can live without doing any virtuous acts.

We should appreciate getting opportunities to do virtuous acts.
